My Home in the Garden was worked on 36 count “Not Another Sampler” linen from Be Stitch Me Fabrics using two strands of Gloriana thread over two threads of linen. It is worked entirely in cross stitches.
This pattern is an updated version of a design previous released under Elizabeth’s Garden called “My House in the Garden”. While the general idea and layout of the old and new pattern remain the same, there are few similarities left between them.
A few notes on threads: Because of the hand dyed nature of Gloriana Threads there are several DMC colors that would work as alternatives. I used 4-yard skeins of Gloriana threads and needed two skeins of both Inca Gold and Northern Lights. Ironwood (brown) is used very sparingly in this sampler- only in the tree trunks.
