Dream Journal: Sci Fi
Heartstring Samplery
“For as long as I can remember, I have had vivid, colorful, and complex dreams. Not usually nightmares, thankfully, although often they are so strange that they can be unsettling. After decades of entertaining family and friends with my mind’s nocturnal imaginings, I decided to start writing them down in a Dream Journal. I find that if I don’t write them down, they most days have evaporated by breakfast time, and I can’t recall much more than a fleeting feeling or tiny detail. But keeping that Dream Journal by my bedside has encouraged me to keep track in a way that doesn’t allow the dreams to escape.
I thought that it would be fun to create a series of Dream Journal covers for my own collection, and decided to share them, in the chance that there are other cross-stitchers out there that are equally fascinated with the stories conjured by their brains while their bodies sleep.
I chose four quotes about dreaming, each with its own flavor. You might choose just one or two, or you might want to stitch all four. The series is interchangeable, and includes a full alphabet and number set so that you can customize the spine and dream bubble on the back.”
This particular journal cover is decidedly Sci Fi, being written by George Carlin, and reads:
“Next time you see someone sleeping,
make believe you’re in a science fiction movie and whisper,
“The creature is regenerating itself.” ”
