A gorgeous new project from Jackie featuring an equally gorgeous wooden maple box from Mr. Miller of Miller Carpentry Creations.
Join in on the adventure as we create a collection of shaker styled sewing articles. In this one-day workshop, you’ll create a sewing roll, featuring a stitched linen exterior and a stunning silk taffeta interior, with pockets for your special stitching keeps and tools, a rounded spool storage area, and a cheeky pop out pincushion.
2025 will bring an opportunity for some additional shaker styled add-ons to your beautiful sewing box.
The Shaker-styled sewing roll fits neatly into one of the two compartments of the stunning maple workbox created by the very talented Mr. Miller.
Information about the original antique workbox that inspired The Artisan’s Workbox, was published on October 20, 2023 in the David A. Schorsch – Eileen M. Smiles catalog. The antique was referred to as a
Slide-lid Storage box. New Hampshire 1840. They stated it was a very rare Shaker form of workbox, with double side-lid with shaped handle. It is one of two nearly identical examples known to exist.
And here’s a fun fact… when you complete your project, we’ll reward you with a gorgeous mother of pearl thread winder for finishing your Jackie piece! I purchased a large number of these beauties from Jackie a while back that I’m only gifting to my Jackie students, and only when I see a finished piece that was taken or audited with us Sassy Jacks! And it is only available from me… as it was bespoke created and made for you.

The workshop fee for The Artisan’s Workbox is $560. A non-refundable deposit of $300 is due upon confirmation of registration. There is no “ghost” option available. Attendance is required.

Once I confirm you, I’ll send you an invoice and provide you the information to receive discounted room rates at the Fairfield Inn & Suites. Standard Queen or Double rooms will be available for $119 (plus applicable fees and taxes) per night. This is a fabulous rate for our area and this hotel.
Asheville will be in her finest beauty as we shift our focus toward the grand celebrations of the holidays. It’s a perfect time to come for a visit.
